Nowadays, the Defender is more than just a car — it is a lifestyle. From classic restorations to modern expeditions, the Defender continues to unite people all over the world who choose the road less traveled.
The Land Rover story begins in 1948 with a simple, rugged vehicle designed for work in demanding conditions. The aluminum body, ladder-frame chassis, and four-wheel drive made it an indispensable helper in agriculture, the military, and expeditions. These foundations defined the Defender’s DNA for the decades to come.
Series I, II, and III models became the foundation of Land Rover worldwide. They were simple, mechanical, and easy to repair even in remote regions. During this period, Land Rover established a reputation as the most reliable off-road vehicle in the world.
With the introduction of the 90 and 110 models in 1983, the Defender era began. A strong frame, permanent four-wheel drive, and extensive customization options made the Defender the choice for professionals, travelers, and adventurers. In 2016, production of the classic Defender concluded, leaving behind a lasting legacy.
In 2020, Land Rover revived the Defender name with a new model – the L663. It combines modern technology, safety, and comfort with exceptional off-road capabilities. The new Defender proves that a legend can evolve without losing its essence.

It depends on the Defender’s use and budget. Original parts ensure maximum compliance with factory specifications, while high-quality alternative parts are often a good and more accessible solution for daily use or off-road upgrades. Within the club, we share verified suppliers and practical experience.
How often should service be performed and what are the most typical problems for an older Defender?
For a classic Defender, it is recommended to perform technical maintenance more often than for modern cars, especially if it is used off-road. The most common issues:
rust formation on the frame and body
oil leaks
wear of suspension and steering components
electrical system minor issues
Proper maintenance and timely troubleshooting allow the Defender to serve for a very long time.
Can I join the club even if I don't have a Defender yet?
